R.W. Lease, Ltd./Beatlesuits.com is proud to present the Beatles Budokan suit. The Budokan is made of 100% worsted wool with moiré detailed taffeta lapel inserts exactly as the Beatles originals. The double-breasted coat features a split-buttoned cuff and a single center vented back. The matching trouser is open-bottomed with side-tab adjustments on the waistband. It includes rear pockets only and the pant leg bottoms are slightly wider than our ‘Drainpipe” and “Sullivan” models. In 1966, The Beatles relied almost exclusively on two different stage suit designs for their concert appearances, a cream-colored dobby weave pinstripe and the black double-breasted suit featured here we are christening “The Budokan”. The Budokan was by far their favorite of the two, having been worn more than twice as often as the pinstripe model. The Budokan was worn throughout the ’66 European and Far Eastern tours as well as their final tour of North America. It’s most famous use would have been for the band’s final stage appearance at Candlestick Park in San Francisco and the famous videotaped Nippon Budokan Hall show in Tokyo.
The Budokan jacket (also offered separately) is available in sizes 36 to 48 in both regulars and longs. The trousers are available in even waist sizes 30 to 40.
